Peterborough foster parent charged with sexual assault

PETERBOROUGH — A foster parent in
Peterborough is facing several sexual assault charges following an
investigation involving three victims.
In October 2016 the Peterborough
Police Service received information regarding several sexual offences that
occurred between February 2016 and October 2016. The allegations involved three
victims — two females under 16 years of age and one female under 17 years of
age.
During all three incidents the
suspect was providing foster care in the Peterborough area to the victims.
On Friday, Nov. 4, officers went to
the suspect's residence where he was placed under arrest.
As a result of the investigation the
accused was charged with the following:
· Luring person under 16 years
of age by means of telecommunication for the purpose of sexual invitation
· Sexual assault on a person
under 16 years of age
· Sexual interference with a person
under 16 years of age
· Sexual exploitation
The accused appeared in court on
Nov. 4 and was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear again in court
on Monday (Nov. 7).
The suspect’s name is not being
released by police in order to protect the identity of the victims involved.
