Our lives, a political cause

Elys "Fight for freedom" speaks to the world: a prisoner who fights to win his freedom, a political right, liberation from slavery, the power or the right to act, speak or think that one wants, freedom in independence, freedom in liberty

 Our lives, a political cause

By Valentina Portillo: Capitalism, as a good totalitarian system, leads us to the gallows. We accept genocide, we accept our trade, without resistance. Its purpose is to alienate us from our consciousness, to be obedient, to put a price on what is priceless. The main victim of every modern holocaust is the will of human beings. One can be a slave in form (living within a system of exploitation like this, for example) but if the spirit remains free, one remains free: no one can destroy the condition of a Spartacus, if he chooses, as a free man , the fight for their freedom; On the contrary, if we give up all that we are, we are truly slaves. There is always a personal millimeter that must belong to us. And this is true in all areas of life.

The opposition citizen should know: opposing totalitarianism is not done only through a protest or a manifesto in the media, which under this regime is already an act of respect and self-esteem, since dissent is increasingly prohibited: war veterans united in demanding decent pensions; the demonstration of other social organizations against the denial of war and the Peace Accords by the celestial regime; the women unjustifiably dismissed from Industrias Florenzi, since July 2020, during the repressive quarantine and who resist until today, January 2021; municipal employees who demand from the Executive the payment of almost nine months from the Fund for Economic and Social Development (FODES); the claim of salaried domestic workers, who, in addition to the household chores of their employers, play the role of teachers and mothers of children and adolescents in necessarily virtual education, without seeing their wages and labor rights increased; they are a sign of mental health against a government that disobeys the law, violates fundamental rights and is not accountable.

However, the citizen also struggles in his private life, his family life, work, academic, social; these facets of everyday life should be the center from which he deploys his political participation. We cannot oppose our aggressors, if we are, or if the violence of repression lies at home or in our interpersonal relationships; or even if the repression is us against us. We cannot be happy if we make others unhappy; We cannot fight the system if we are miserable. Frei Betto comments it this way: “Faithful to the Cause, militants are unfaithful when it comes to paying their employees fair wages. They take care of the game, not their sick child.

" This self-examination is necessary, not to distribute blame, but to rectify, and for youth to assume their responsibility in the current situation, as products of a context, yes, but also as creators: they have the task of creating another generation, worthy May he find his own way personally and collectively.

Dedicated to blaming their parents, many young people justify their misery and addictions, bury their humanity, evade their responsibility by embracing alienating spectacles or claiming vices as revolutionary habits. They deny themselves, and in doing so, they deny their potential; We must show them that they are not only products, but subjects. We cannot affirm that the statistics on youth support for the Presidential House fop are true, but we can invite young people to abandon petty practices and participate politically from their personal struggles: without repression, without guilt, without spiritual misery, without fear of themselves, listening to us, understanding them, demanding of them by example.

The mediocre are the men and women who do not think for themselves; they allow the Adolf Hitlers to succeed; it is not a responsibility that falls on an individual. If millions of human beings despair, it is the result of this massacre therapy, of first crushing our reason, our identity, our self-esteem, our conscience and our culture to eradicate our alternatives against oppression.

José Ingenieros says that the small mind does not understand "the language of someone who explained some mystery of the universe or life, eternal evolution in the continuous adaptation of man to nature." Our political and cultural ignorance is also fundamentally situated in ignorance of how nature works, the culmination of which we humans are. Our desire as a matter is to grow, progress, reflect. The great odyssey of the Universe has been the conquest of consciousness.

Ideals, knowledge and ethics are combined acts. Ingenieros adds: “to conceive perfection a certain ethical level is required and some intellectual education is essential. Without them you can have fanaticism and superstitions; ideals, never ”.

What ideals can the current Salvadoran president have, if as a public official he directs his acts out of revenge and religious dogmatism? Our fellow citizens at the time praised the disrespect of this superfluous businessman when he threw a man, whom he had defamed, a wad of $ 50,000 in payment of a fine for libel. The gesture was a disgusting mockery to millions of workers who will never have that amount in their hands. But many of these Salvadorans applaud each time the luxurious procession of cars and helicopters transport mediocre public officials with money from the people. It seems that El Salvador will not stop giving us unfortunate surprises.

Objective reality also seems to give way to virtual reality, but no sane young man - that's the big problem, "sanity" - will admit that a virtual kiss will replace a real kiss. That a virtual hug will replace the real one. The virtual life that the oppressed live in the fantasy of living through the president wimp will never be true life. However, that is the objective of this elitist government: to impose its virtual reality while taking over land, water, health, the economy, sovereignty, the popular will. They deny any historical conquest of this people, not out of ignorance, but to insert their speech into the popular mentality; but the effects are not virtual: they reach us and can destroy us.

Although human rights and the laws of bourgeois society are historically exclusive, we cannot suspend the struggles that claim these rights, if there is not a revolution that modifies the roots of inequality. And the transformation is also done from the small.

From the perspective of imbecility, the current Salvadoran president is absolutely right when he speaks. But from the perspective of free thought, as much as some believe he is genius, others try with all our might to understand why his linguistic incompetence - which is saying it all, as an important manifestation of his culture - has so much echo; neither his language nor his rhetoric are moderately polished to listen to him without disgust. Some want to believe that he is correct, that he speaks well, that he will not sink El Salvador beyond known limits. So far, the facts say otherwise. Although its success reflects the identity of thousands of Salvadorans condemned to mediocrity, there is still salvation: our own lives.

Reason, creativity and love between us will provide us with the energy to stay afloat. The reason, which makes us think; creativity, which is poetry to find an outlet for that which does not have it; and the love that builds full human beings. Let us remember that fanaticism killed and continues to kill billions of human beings. Who always give their power to tyrants? They are simple people, who at some point renounce their will, and obey the order of the little dictator, executing his evil deed.

Intelligence prevents us from accepting blindly. It is one of the most punished reactions among children: questioning when there are reasons. And this is an optimal state of matter. Sometimes some outraged citizens choose to isolate themselves a bit and cultivate life to spread creativity, freedom and respect in a beautiful secret. They build a shelter away from horror. They forge a son, and create him powerful and beautiful, to defend the centimeter of his universe in a way that that son will know how to choose.

They are not unconditional believers, because they need to see the stone in the next trench, to know that the blood they shed is worth something. They know it's worth it, because behind they left a thousand trenches of shattered grandparents who constantly remind us how free and how beautiful we were and will be. Ahead are waiting for the grandchildren to come. They build, create, think, live, reproduce, follow. For them these lines are: despite the overwhelming reality, they understand that knowing is living. We must be more poetic, because life is creating, and creativity is the exercise of our power.

Political participation is also in these small causes: each individual with the possibility of becoming more human. With more full human beings, there is popular cohesion, consciousness, revolutionary praxis. Each family group is a molecule capable of linking with others, to create stars, men, women, societies. A well-raised child is humanity that will prolong his autonomy. It is an incalculable triumph. And each person is his own political struggle against a system that suffocates him. We have power to create or to deliver. That power is ancient, and we must pass it on to prevail. Almost everything in this reality dominated by macabre elites can seem like defeat. A well-accomplished life is already a necessary triumph.

No life is detached from the others. To understand this is to be citizens, that is, politicians; living with freedom and plenitude is a political struggle just as necessary in times when stupidity and denial are law.
