What did they do with the noble profession?

What did they do with the noble profession?

By Mempo Giardinelli: Precious the work of Rep on the back cover of Saturday: from the bottom of the ocean, inquire: "What did they do with that noble office: journalism?".

The question is pertinent and unleashes nostalgia. Osvaldo Soriano as a symbol of this profession, in the 70s in Graphic Week, then in La Opinión, and in the 80s in this newspaper. Rodolfo Walsh and his ethical example. And dozens of honorable surnames; Galeano, Bayer, Calloni, Nepomuceno, Bosch, Bernetti and so many others for whom the truth was a mission, and disseminate an undeniable civic duty because the truth was, and life was given for it.

An abyss between that and what is seen now, when information is murdered tomorrow, afternoon and evening, throwing instead media trash about legions of people who read or watch TV with gullible innocence, many of them unable or unable to think because they only believe in good faith.

In that context, one reads the caption in which the senator and the worst former Minister of Education we had, Mr. Bullrich, reveals once again his ignorance and shamelessness by mocking 375 dismissed journalists from Telam; or attend the reiterated provocations of the Minister Mr. Lombardi, now become Great Censor of Argentina, and can not but evoke with sorrow and nostalgia the struggles and conquests of hundreds, thousands of courageous communicators, ingenious, idealistic, studious and above all decent, honest laburantes who always tried and managed to live honestly on their salaries. And tod @ s laburando to piecework and without schedules, and putting the chest, so much chest that already we took more than 200 martyrs of the office from the dictatorship to here.

Great question of Rep: what did they do with that noble profession: journalism? A possible response was given this weekend in Guatsap a brief report that circulated profusely entitled "The judicial campaign has already begun." It is excellent and accurate, because it describes how in 2015 the fake-news calls deceived half the country, and how now they started doing the same. Of course, the title could be improved: "The falsely journalistic judicial campaign began." If they did not see it, look for it. Very opportune, it began filming on June 6, the day in which the true journalists honor Mariano Moreno and in his name a legion of unforgettable Argentine communicators.

But this time you would say that the shot is going to backfire, because the people are alerted and only remain as audience the happy and reactionary fools of always, and the classic gorillas and septuagenarios and their little pigeons, who have little. And the result of so much miserable effort is as simple as ancient: the lie has short legs.

However, these guys -who are seriously bad and can not be underestimated- will continue the scam because they are desperate to comply with the ferocious neoliberalism that governs the world and demands that they destroy everything they contemptuously call "populism". They have no idea what this concept means, that it is not ideology but political action, and that only (and nothing less!) Guarantees equity of rights and opportunities, and work, production, education and public health, equitable social security. and much more. That is all that by corruption and stubborn ignorance, the so-called communicators in their service are determined to destroy as they have done during the last horrible 42 months of abusing this country and this people.

The strategy of psychopathic manipulation of social behavior, which since 2015 these types of people and their so-called journalists, serial incommunicators and trolls in the pay of the State, will now aim to manipulate electoral propaganda by inventing false news, and will do so in a less sophisticated way, more brutal and rude, because they are desperate. What makes them, now, doubly dangerous because they lie and poison from the pathological hatred of their bosses and their own.

Mercenaries for money, perks or gentrification, defecate falsehoods without shame or embarrassment in the service of judicial barbarities such as protecting a remiss and allegedly coimero prosecutor, whose avoidance to declare in a sewage case that involves him only increases the widespread suspicion of his criminal act.

These "journalists" - among conscious quotes - are not questionable only because of what they say in a loud voice but also, and perhaps worse, why they silence and cover up. Yesterday Sunday in these pages the colleague Tuny Kollman clarified the sensationalist tapas festival with the so-called "bags of Lopez", to denounce the gross coverage of the mentimedios that hid that money "came out of the Finansur Bank, at a time when the entity was managed by Jorge Sánchez Córdova, then Treasurer of Boca Jr. when Mauricio Macri was the owner of the entity ".

The same happened with the offshore accounts of the president and half cabinet in Panama, the Bahamas, Switzerland or anywhere. And equally with the infamous external debt that has endorsed the next generations of Argentines, and on which none of them speaks, none a word beyond the systematic cackling of "economists", also comrades, who confuse the people with incomprehensible technicalities to hide the obvious: that if the macrismo has indebted us in 200 billion dollars it is absolutely inexplicable that nobody says where they are, where they went, because in factories they are not and in roads, bridges, railroads and infrastructure either, as they are not in schools, hospitals, housing and social inclusion plans.

Where are all those billions of dollars that the IMF gave them and barely talk about as if they were only a "technical" problem?

These "journalists" and "economists" actually work, in addition, to dollarize the economy and thus eliminate our currency. That's why they encouraged the real-peso nonsense with Brazil. They ignore or hide that having their own currency is a fundamental and decisive factor of every nation. Because a coin is a sign and a flag, and it is self-determination and respectability in the concert of nations.
