How the process of forgetting and remembering occurs in our brain

How the process of forgetting and remembering occurs in our brain

Spanish researchers have determined the neuronal mechanism that makes these two actions possible. The new study establishes the relevant role of the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus in the activation and retrieval of acquired memories.

Every day, we acquire new memories while forgetting others. However, as we age, activating them often becomes difficult and complicates our ability to make sense of phenomena in our environment.

There are various diseases, such as Alzheimer's, that cause the disconnection of brain circuits, which erases or makes access to our vital memories difficult, with a devastating effect on patients, since they lose the ability to recognize who they are and their relationships. with the rest. In fact, simply altering such circuits makes the execution of simple tasks incredibly difficult.

In a recent study, carried out by the group of Mazahir T. Hasan, from the Achucarro Basque Neuroscience Research Center, and by José María Delgado and the Neurosciences Division of the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville, the authors selectively blocked the functional activity of the neurons of the dentate gyrus (DG) of the hippocampus for several days.

With this selective manipulation, they discovered that, although the learned memories disappeared during the time in which the DG was inactive, they reappeared once its functional activity was recovered.

The results, published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry, reveal that GD is necessary for the activation of already acquired memories and their recovery.

More about learning and its memory

While a previous study carried out by the same team from the Sevillian institution suggested the possibility of selective elimination of unwanted memories, the recent article establishes the crucial role of the GD in the activation and recovery of acquired memories.

For the authors, this new work approaches a greater understanding of the molecular mechanisms that make learning and its memory possible, which is essential to face the scientific challenges presented by memory dysfunctions as a consequence of aging, stress disorders post-traumatic or Alzheimer's.

Russian mafia boss arrested, never gringo bosses

by Narciso Isa Conde:                                                                                                                                           There is no way to capture a white, blonde, blue-eyed mobster here or there.

The gringo and pro-gringo media refers a lot to the Mexican, Colombian, Haitian, Venezuelan, Dominican mafias... The US authorities really like to announce the capture of a Russian boss and when they achieve it they turn their speakers at full volume.

Apparently he has never been able to arrest a Cuban boss from Cuba, because they do not exist; and for those from Miami, those authorities do not have eyes suitable for those purposes

The Iranian bosses do not exist either and the Chinese are few and the Chinese authorities are in charge of giving them their San Martín.

These days the gringo media and its Creole subsidiary are celebrating with the arrest here in the Dominican Republic of a boss of the Russian mafia, a Caribbean paradise where they usually spend the night. The deployment has been large and intense.

Never, however, have we seen the DEA capture a gringo drug lord; even less act in that direction to the brand new Southern Command.

As far as the US is concerned, apparently the volumes of cocaine and heroin that they complain about do not arrive, or they have packaging that makes them invisible; while the new Alcapone are prohibited from interfering in those tasks.

There are no gangs, no signs of that color, nor local companies to receive these shipments, and these apparently enter automatically through secret underwater tunnels or digitally.

This is what happens in Western Europe.

The whites of the North and the Western world either do not get involved in drug lords, or they are free of guilt, or exempt from these tasks. There are also no capitalist oligarchs related to these businesses, or they are undetectable. There is no way to capture a white, blonde, blue-eyed mobster here or there.

It's curious, but it's like that.

He happened here with the Quirino case... that's why they intercepted him on the Duarte highway, before taking the shipment to the free zone company of a neo-oligarch from Santiago. There was also no mention of the American company that would receive it on the East Coast of the United States.

He screwed up his Russian and not because he was Russian, nor because he was white, but because of Putin.

Of course, former Latin-Caribbean mafia presidents are not spared when the gringos take away their pleasure. They use them, wring them out, and then mop the floor with what's left of them. Look what happened to Luis Orlando Hernández, from Honduras.

Of course, that is not going to happen to any Clinton, Biden or Trump. They are gringos and white. Westerners and Christians, for that matter.

Let Leonel, Abinader, Danilo and the gang take care of themselves, because of the photos with the extradited bosses and their award-winning confessions, still secret.

Leonel, for the gringos, is black, and his 'Green Card' does not save him, and Abinader, to make matters worse, is half-Palestinian.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, it's just a desire to screw around with a little white humor, because of how much those three idiots have screwed up this town at the hands of the terrible Uncle Sam! (noticiassin.com)
