Illusion of change

 

 There is no doubt that the uninterrupted line of time -almanacs more, almanacs less- inevitably leads us to pay for mistakes, to chase fatuous dreams and to persist in wrong actions. And so, we started an agenda of blank pages whose printed lines will be populated with new appointments too similar to those of the previous agenda and one or another project predictably similar to that one that has not been carried out during the past 12 months. the illusion of change

                                                                                            ILLUSION OF CHANGE                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Outside, on the street, leaving aside the rubbish from the rockets that disturbed the night silence, the same violence lies in wait for unsuspecting citizens, because crime does not rest nor does it depend on a change of digits that its ominous and overwhelming presence vanishes.

 

  The lesson of the day is that magic does not exist nor do miracles occur in such a basic and pedestrian way as the fact of going from December of one year to January of the next. Quite the contrary, it is necessary to stay alert and analyze the mistakes made: the childish enthusiasm for the omens of a change of government, the cowardly silence in the face of the abuses of legislators, that kind of civic numbness induced by many decades of repression, but also the selfishness of those who have something and do not want to risk their precarious stability for those who have nothing. 

 

 The tsunami of war that has filled television screens with ruins and corpses, coupled with the tragedy of the emigrants -victims of war, hunger and violence in their territories- should have awakened the collective conscience a bit, by demonstrating with its resounding reality that in the face of great tribulations human solidarity is important. The violence unleashed against the civilian population in nations whose only sin is the immense wealth of its subsoil or its strategic geographical position, has given us a fairly approximate idea of the scope of the ambition of those countries that have enriched themselves as a result of their power. of aggression. 

 

 Everything that has hit us during 2022 will continue to hit us in the new year: the loss of legal certainty in our third world countries, the increase in extreme poverty and abuses by rulers, the indifference of the international community in the face of violence against peoples defenseless. 

 

 The important thing, then, is to get involved and clear the mists of a joyous and late-night party without much relevance, whose noise only camouflaged, for a few hours, the sadness of those who lost their jobs or those who had nothing to celebrate. The sun follows its eternal path dragging a poorly managed planet, populated by beings unable to coexist in peace and determined to destroy their environment. Isolated efforts to turn scientific advances into greater well-being for the people collide head-on with the immense power of consolidated groups of companies dedicated to manipulating and transforming discoveries into more money for their shareholders. 

 

 If there were a change to the rhythm of the days, let it be to involve the population in what happens with their future and that of their children and contribute to awakening them from the accommodative lethargy where they have remained while their assets vanish in foreign banks, without hope return. May the protocol of the calendar work as a spell to wake her up from the dream in which corruption, threat and fear of facing reality have plunged her.
