Police! Hitmen hired by the government to slaughter the poor and vulnerable?

In these lands, we have always had a great problem with police excesses when they use what they call "the legitimate use of force", but in these dark times of pandemic, the problem has worsened in a worrying way.

The suffocating and multicolored police deployment that we have been observing every day since this strange situation began, is already being accompanied by too many situations of harassment, brutality and abuse of power.

They feel they have full authority to do whatever they want, and excesses are common. They enjoy too much the absolute power that the institutions have granted them and that is translating into an absolutely insane drunkenness of authoritarianism

Maybe someone should explain the difference between "health emergency" and "military dictatorship." They do not seem to have it entirely clear.

The problem is aggravated when conflict situations arise and they resort to the never moderates or riot diplomats. Those who do not cut a hair in order to "enter with everything" and "throw to give" at the first exchange.

If I have not counted badly, in recent times, the Ertzaintza already has two fractured jaws with the "less harmful" foam bullets.

This insistence on the "minor injury" of these projectiles is resulting in an even greater relaxation than the one they already had with rubber balls when shooting at the head at close range.

Clearly, a projectile capable of smashing a jaw can be fatal if it hits a vital point.

If parties and the media continue to provide coverage and support for the uncontrolled violence of the Ertzaintza, systematically qualifying it as "proportional and impeccable actions," it is a matter of time before we have a new Cabacas case.

The feeling of impunity of the Ertzainas after the ruling of the Cabacas case, added to the unconditional support of certain parties and the media, will end up translating, sooner rather than later, once again, into an irreparable misfortune

. Right now, we have many, too many problems of all kinds. And one of them is wearing a uniform, is armed and is totally out of control.
