The incident began at approximately 10:45 a.m. on April 3, when officers arrived at an apartment building at 23 Lascelles Blvd. after receiving a call about a male in distress, the Special Investigations Unit said in a prepared statement.
“Shortly after officers entered an apartment unit, there was an interaction between the man and officers,” the statement said.
The man was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where he died on April 15.
