“Omar Khadr says he pleaded guilty to war crimes because of his ‘hopeless’ situation in Guantanamo Bay”

The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities, and our lives are all the property of other men. “We are intellectual prostitutes.”

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”
- Mahatma Gandhi

Mr. Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety of Canada?                                                                                                                     “Omar Khadr says he pleaded guilty to war crimes because of his ‘hopeless’ situation in Guantanamo Bay”                                                                                      TORONTO — Former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr has explained for the first time why he pleaded guilty to five war crimes, saying it was because he had been left with a “hopeless” choice.

In a new court filing obtained by The Canadian Press, Khadr says he knew the Americans could have held him indefinitely — even in the highly unlikely case he would have been acquitted.
“I was left with a hopeless choice,” Khadr, 27, says in the affidavit sworn Friday.
“If I wanted the chance to eventually return to my home of Canada, I would have to be found guilty of crimes as determined by the U.S. government, which could then lead to me serving my sentence in Canada.”
The affidavit, filed in Federal Court, comes as part of Khadr’s $20-million lawsuit against the federal government for violation of his rights.
Without the plea agreement he signed in October 2010, Khadr says he would have faced the possibility of life-long detention and “continued abuse and torture” at Guantanamo Bay.
The entire agreement, including the agreed stipulation of facts, was put together by the American government, he says.
The Toronto-born Khadr also makes it clear that — in contrast to the agreed facts in the plea deal — he has never believed Jews or Americans should be killed or deserve to die, and says he never willingly joined an al-Qaida terrorist cell.
“Any participation in al-Qaida-related activities was at the demand of the adults around me,” his affidavit says — the first time Khadr has addressed such issues publicly.
He also says the American case against him was based in part on evidence supplied by Canadian intelligence officials, who interviewed him at the U.S. naval base after his transfer there from Afghanistan.
Documents also filed show Canadian intelligence officials, who were pursuing a case against Khadr’s father and a possible terrorism case against him, knew the Americans would only grant access to the teen if they would share information with the U.S.
“U.S. State Department would permit Canadian authorities an opportunity to interview Omar Khadr should it be established that such interviews would further any investigation within their jurisdiction,” according to one RCMP memo from September 2002.
Khadr’s lawyers are trying to get those links included as part of the civil lawsuit against Ottawa, which has denied any wrongdoing.
The Americans detained Khadr as a terribly wounded 15-year-old following a four-hour firefight in Afghanistan in July 2002 in which a U.S. Special Forces soldier was killed.
Khadr says he has no memories of that battle or of the grenade that killed Sgt. Christopher Speer.
He also insists he had no plans to kill any soldiers, nor did he attack any of the U.S. forces who entered the compound after the battle was over.
Those denials, however, would have left him unable to enter the plea deal before a widely maligned military commission, which sentenced him to a further eight years behind bars.
Khadr was transferred to Canada in September 2012 to serve out the rest of his sentence, and is currently housed in an Edmonton maximum security facility.
The federal government has repeatedly denounced Khadr as an unrepentant terrorist.
Khadr is also appealing his underlying conviction in the U.S. on the basis that the offences to which he pleaded guilty — including murder in violation of the rule of law — have no validity in either international or American domestic law.
His affidavit also states that he never signed away his rights to appeal that conviction.                                         Khadr says his detention conditions deteriorated after he pleaded guilty, and he was interrogated for up to nine hours a day for nine or 10 days at a stretch.

CANADIAN JOURNALISTS!  WE ARE INTELLECTUAL PROSTITUTES?

Arrest peaceful protesters and innocent bystanders in/near a designated free speech zone under non-existent laws, then beat, intimidate and abuse them.
Declare a panel discussion at a public university to be a demonstration to arrest someone for a probation violation.
Define protest to be a mental or personality disorder to lock up an 82-year-old devoted protester for the rest of her life.
Arrest a father because their daughter simply drew a picture of a gun at school (Kitchener Ontario).
Kidnap defenseless children; torture them in the residence of a police sergeant and drugging them.
Without warrant enter the apartment, vandalize the residence and steal $1180.00 of a single parent.
Without prior notice move a car full of merchandise, vandalize the car and steal the goods
and tools.
For more definitions of "state" look it up; it does not necessarily mean A STATE as in the USA; just an FYI in case you feel like being one of the many people who felt the need to explain Canada is not a state.
Police Chief Bill Blair should be fired along with every cop involved in the beating of innocent people. You are not guardians or protectors, you are nothing but cowards looking to power trip and beat on people because the system has allowed you. Your authority is NOT RECOGNIZED. The people do not accept your apology.
- Police Chief LIES and states the video was tampered with and that Adam Nobody assaulted the officers during "a significant portion of the tape that is missing"
- Police Chief FABRICATES evidence against an innocent person of the public.
- Falsified reports incorrectly state Adam Nobody assaulted an officer the day after he was arrested. "DOCUMENTARY BACK-FILLING"
- Falsified reports indicate badge numbers that are "not traceable to any officer engaged in G20 policing."
-NO EVIDENCE OF ANY KIND OR ANY ASSAULTING BEHAVIOR BY ADAM NOBODY.
Toronto G20 2010- Police take down random peaceful protesters. This guy was standing 5 feet away from me with his back to police when he is singled out and taken down by roughly 10 police in a hard tackle. Kneed, punched and pinned for doing nothing more than showing up with a poster. Never even saw it coming. Many other people were taken down the same way today. I saw people as young as 10 with their parents being knocked to the ground! This is deplorable. There is a reason to protest! This ridiculous paranoia if nothing else!! Keep Canada free!!!
The Toronto Star reported on November 25, 2010 the following conclusion:
"Adam Nobody, 27, was also at a demonstration at the legislature and started to run away as police ordered people to move back. As he ran Nobody was knocked to the ground by an officer in riot gear and arrested. He was treated in hospital for a fracture below his right eye.
In a video posted to YouTube the man can be seen running from six officers, then once on the ground they surround him, pin him to the ground and one of them can be seen quickly moving a closed fist in a striking motion in the area of Nobody's head or upper body.
Two officers were designated as subject officers during the investigation, but they would not agree to be interviewed.
The SIU concluded there appeared to be an excessive use of force, but it's impossible to tell the identity of the officer from the video. The arresting officer couldn't be identified because the badge number on the arrest sheet didn't correspond to an assigned badge number within the Toronto Police Service."

Prof. Anthony James Hall of the University of Lethbridge critically analyzes the official explanation of the alleged shooting in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Within hours of the alleged Moncton shooting, on June 4, 2014, the RCMP in collaboration with the Canadian media provided an elaborate interpretation of what had transpired. This interpretation was challenged by Hall in a recent Veterans Today article entitled "National Grieving or Unveiling of Police State Canada" which can be read here:
